I had my first sale on Etsy last week. Thanks Marca:) It was a Taniwah apron. I googled the name and found this article again from the Powerhouse Museum.
What is interesting is that I bought this dress last year at this Vintage fair in Canberra last year. It is a Taniwah dress made in the 1950's. Its one of my favourite summer dresses. So comfortable, easy and soft to wear. Anyway I got it from a lady called Chris who came from Adelaide who has a shop in Largs Bay near where I grew up, hence the title of this post.
My obsession for the week is now Taniwah.

Getting ready for Love Vintage
I am taking some time out from the flurry of getting ready for Love Vintage at the Horden Pavilion tomorrow.
There is always one last thing to prepare.
I almost forgot about this dress. I had to get out the steamer again after I remembered I had this Studibaker Hawk dress squirreled away. Despite the fact that the photo is set against the dagy-ness of my kitchen it is still an awesome dress.
It has so many layers and curves. No wonder there is one here.
Some bags are packed and I am getting ready to go.

bali 22/12/2011-3/1/2012
With one month nearly gone and a New Years resolution nearly shattered, I am going to endeavour to update the blog regularly this year.
Starting with some holiday shots of our holiday. I liked the little and big statues of Ganesh in their sarongs that are spotted all around Bali. Added a splash of pizazz to the place.
These are some famous rice fields all done by hand. For a dollar you could get a picture with a 90 year old farmer with no teeth doing the thumbs up with this as a backdrop. A missed opportunity perhaps.
I will be back with more vintage /fashion/tat related stuff soon.
